Summer to Fall A+by Anthropologie

The air is starting to get crisp and the leaves are turning from green to hues of yellow and orange creating a back-drop for pumpkin patches, gools and goblins, and of course boots, sweaters, and all things cool and cozy.

Well not really…

We are still experiencing 90+ degrees here in Los Angeles and it’s “Like Oh my Gosh” even hotter in the Valley (in my valley girl voice).  The season on my calendar and these temps are not matching up. We are in the transition season, so what’s a girl to do when it still feels like summer? It still feels summer, but I found some really great pieces during the Anthropologie’s clearance sale to take me effortlessly into what I call Summer-Fall here in Southern California.

By mixing these Anthropologie pieces with some of my own Fall favorites I am confident my Summer-Fall fashion mix is chic and effortless.IMG_6009I love this dress Virginia dress (currently sold out) and was so happy to find it in the store.  If you are ever in Pasadena CA, please stop at the Anthropologie’s store there.  The selection is amazing and the staff is on point.  I visited for the first time this past weekend and it was one of the best shopping experiences I have had in a long time, maybe ever! IMG_6011Back to the dress, I bought a size 20W and it fits really well, it’s actually a midi on me and at 6’2” I’ll take it.  I paired it with a cropped denim jacket and weathered knee-high boots.  This look will take me right out of Summer into Fall. Here’s a similar look.IMG_6005 2 I’ve never really been sure about culotte pants.  I am what you might call knocked kneed, so baggy crop pants can get a little tricky. It’s almost like I could never ever avoid the big thigh crisscross. It’s like my pants always raced to cross one leg over the other right at mid-thigh. IMG_6065I tried the Pilcro Ultra High-Rise Cropped Wide-Leg Jeans and they changed my whole entire mind. They fit really well, and comfortable, the rise is great and no mid-thigh crisscross! I bought a size 20W. Here’s a link to a similar style.IMG_6083 Sometimes the best outfits may not really be your style on the hanger, but you try them on anyway and simply fall in love! That is exactly what happened with this Maeve Juno Animal Print dress.IMG_6334 2

I didn’t want to try it because I thought it would be too short.  Surprise it was just right and though it’s a little loose, size 3x, it is lovely with these over the knee boots. I’ve linked a similar dress here, same dress different patternIMG_6373 I usually shop online, but I am so glad I went to the store to experience the A+Plus line in person. The Pasadena store had a nice selection and an even better clearance section, yes sale!  I went with two of my girlfriends and we all have very different body types and varying heights.  I am tall and apple-shaped carrying most of my weight in my mid-section, size 18/20.  My friend has an hourglass figure around a size 22/24 and is shorter, my other friend has more of a pear shape carrying her weight in her lower body. Guess what? We each left the store with a shopping bag full of clothes we love that FIT!IMG_5888 2

Thank you, Anthropologie for adding more inclusive sizing. The A+ by Anthropologie line gets it right!
